Plasma Testnet Faucet FAQ

Select Plasma and the Testnet network on this page, enter your wallet address or connect a wallet, then complete the verification to receive XPL on Plasma Testnet. The base drip is free and requires no Quicknode account, no post on X and no minimum mainnet balance, so a brand new wallet can claim. Optional bonuses increase the amount but are never required.

You can claim XPL once every 12 hours per network, and the exact base amount for Plasma Testnet is shown on the next step, once you have entered a wallet address. Sharing a post on X that contains your wallet address and this faucet URL doubles the drip, and Quicknode customers on a paid plan double it again, up to four times the base amount plus priority in the queue for faster delivery. The 12 hour cooldown is per wallet address per network, so you can still claim on a different network in the meantime.

Plasma Testnet is the test network for Plasma, a layer 1 built specifically for stablecoin payments. It uses test XPL as its gas token and is EVM compatible. Plasma is designed around high-volume, low-cost stablecoin transfers rather than general smart contract usage.

Plasma Testnet uses chain ID 9746, and you can view your transactions on Plasmascan. To add the network to MetaMask or another wallet, enter that chain ID together with an RPC URL and the explorer URL, or connect your wallet on this page and approve the network switch when prompted. For a dedicated endpoint without shared rate limits, create a free Plasma RPC endpoint on Quicknode.

The most common cause is the 12 hour cooldown, which applies per wallet address per network, so a repeat request inside that window is rejected. Other frequent causes are a failed bot check, an address that is not a valid Plasma address, having the wrong network selected, or the Plasma Testnet faucet wallet running low on funds. Smart contract wallets and multisig addresses can also fail where a standard address succeeds. If it keeps failing, reach out on X or Discord.

Plasma Testnet is the network for testing stablecoin payment rails, settlement flows and transfer-heavy applications. Standard EVM contracts deploy here, so the main thing you are testing is payment throughput and cost.
