Story Aeneid Faucet FAQ

Select Story and the Aeneid network on this page, enter your wallet address or connect a wallet, then complete the verification to receive IP on Story Aeneid. The base drip is free and requires no Quicknode account, no post on X and no minimum mainnet balance, so a brand new wallet can claim. Optional bonuses increase the amount but are never required.

You can claim IP once every 12 hours per network, and the exact base amount for Story Aeneid is shown on the next step, once you have entered a wallet address. Sharing a post on X that contains your wallet address and this faucet URL doubles the drip, and Quicknode customers on a paid plan double it again, up to four times the base amount plus priority in the queue for faster delivery. The 12 hour cooldown is per wallet address per network, so you can still claim on a different network in the meantime.

Aeneid is the current Story test network, and it replaced the earlier Iliad and Odyssey testnets. Story rebranded to Data Network in mid-2026 and its token is migrating from IP to DATA, so current documentation and the block explorer now use the Data Network name. It is a layer 1 built for registering intellectual property onchain and attaching programmable licensing terms to it.

Story Aeneid uses chain ID 1315, and you can view your transactions on Aeneid Explorer. To add the network to MetaMask or another wallet, enter that chain ID together with an RPC URL and the explorer URL, or connect your wallet on this page and approve the network switch when prompted. For a dedicated endpoint without shared rate limits, create a free Story RPC endpoint on Quicknode.

The most common cause is the 12 hour cooldown, which applies per wallet address per network, so a repeat request inside that window is rejected. Other frequent causes are a failed bot check, an address that is not a valid Story address, having the wrong network selected, or the Story Aeneid faucet wallet running low on funds. Smart contract wallets and multisig addresses can also fail where a standard address succeeds. Iliad, which the older documentation calls simply Testnet, and Odyssey are both retired, so use Aeneid. Aeneid is the network for testing IP registration, licence terms and royalty flows, which are native primitives on Story rather than contracts you write yourself. It suits media, music and AI training-data applications.
